Fluvial Acoustic Tomography (FAT)

Two types of FAT is presented in the frequencies of 30 and 56 kHz to
monitor ranges less than 2 and 1 km, respectively.
The FAT provides the following parameters in rivers, estuaries, lakes
dam reservoirs and experimental flumes/tanks:

  • Range/Depth Averaged Temperature
  • Range/Depth Averaged Velocity
  • Streamflow
  • 2-D Temperature
  • 2-D Velocity
  • Salinity flux
  • Tidal Bore
  • AUV Positioning

Coastal Acoustic Tomography (CAT)

Two types of CAT is presented in the frequencies of 5 and 10 kHz to
monitor ranges less than 40 and 20 km, respectively.
The CAT provides the following parameters in wide rivers (>1 km)
coastal areas, seas, straits, and open oceans (< 40 km):

  • Range/Depth Averaged Temperature
  • Range/Depth Averaged Velocity
  • Streamflow
  • Tidal Currents Structure
  • Nonlinear Tidal Currents
  • Multi Subtidal
  • Residual Currents
  • Upwelling
  • Internal Solitary Waves
  • Vertical Temperature
  • Profiling
  • Vertical Current Profiling
  • 2-D Temperature
  • 2-D Current
  • 3-D Temperature
  • 3-D Current
  • Coastal Front
  • Flow of Ocean Shelf Zone
  • AUV Localization

Laboratory Acoustic Tomography (LAT)

Two types of LAT is presented in the frequencies of 100 and 180 kHz to monitor ranges less than 50 and 20 m, respectively.
The LAT is the application of AT to experimental flumes/tanks as well as narrow irrigation channels.
